Before the Middletown High School Girls Varsity Soccer team took the field on Sept 11, 2014, students, veterans and the community remembered all who had fallen that day in 2001. During the pre-game ceremony, veterans from VFW Post 3809 were recoginized for their service by ladies from both the Middletown High School and Lakota West Varsity Girls Soccer team.

The Ohio Lottery is moving ahead with plans to spend almost $22.6 million on “next generation” vending machines that it hopes to place in veterans lodges and fraternal organizations despite protests by those groups.
