Ralph Creech
1929 - 2015

CREECH, Ralph E. Age 86, of Monroe, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday evening, March 21, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. Ralph was surrounded during the day by his loving family and friends. He was born on January 4, 1929 in Middletown, Ohio; he graduated from Waynesville High School. Ralph served in the United States Air Force and he retired from A K Steel on March 31, 1990. Ralph was a member of Middletown Moose #501, American Legion Post 218 and VFW Post #3809. Ralph leaves behind his daughter, whom he resided with, Marcia (Mike) Crutchfield of Monroe and son Gary Creech of Lebanon; brother Gerald (Patsy) Creech of Lebanon; sisters, Faye (Doug) Henderson of Waynesville and Fern Morgan of Springboro; grandchildren, Stefanie (Brad) Bryant of Franklin, Michelle (Dennis) New of Lebanon, Nick (Lara) Crutchfield of Franklin and Jeffrey Creech of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Madison and Garrett Bryant, Maya and Nicolas Crutchfield and Holden Creech; brother-in-laws, Richard Steward of Seymour, IN and George Birch of Middletown; former spouse and friend, Joan Creech of Lebanon and many nieces and nephews; special friends, Al Stevens and Dimitri and Maria Ververis. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Sycamore Hospital, Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village and Hospice of Middletown; Dr. Mary Ellen Broadstone-Gaeke and Dr. Dyrk VanValkenburg for the love and compassion they gave Ralph and his family during his brief illness. The family will receive friends at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lamar Ferrell officiating. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum. Mabel L. Blevins
1919 - 2015

BLEVINS, Mabel L. 95 of Middletown, passed away Thursday morning, March 19, 2015 at the Bickford Nursing Home. She was born October 2, 1919 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the daughter of Edgar Whisman and Ida Mae (Drake) Whisman. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Blevins in 1968 and son, Roger D. Blevins, in 2008. She is survived by her son, Edward Blevins, of Irving, Texas, 8 grandchildren and over a dozen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, March 23 at the Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time Monday. Virginia Romans
1922 - 2015

ROMANS, Virginia M. "Ginny" 92, of Middletown, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on May 5, 1922 to parents Samuel and Flora Yenser. Virginia was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladie's Auxiliary. Mrs. Romans is survived by her sons, David E.Romans, Edward A. (Jeanne) Romans & Charles S. Romans; grandchildren, Nicole (Tim) Saupè, Jeff Romans, Christina (John) Peretti, Joshua Romans, Isaac Romans, Sara Romans & Jessee (Gene) Smith; and great grandchildren, Marissa Romans, Megan Saupè & Brady Saupè. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Romans; parents; five sisters; and seven brothers. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Michael Vilardo officiating. Robert E. (Bob) Miller
1923 - 2015

MILLER, Robert E. "Bob" 92, of Middletown, died Friday, August 14, 2015, at home. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 14, 1923 to parents William E. and Ollie May (Back) Miller. Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he served from Apr 28, 1942 to Nov 8, 1945. Bob retired from Armco Steel Corp in 1982 after serving in several capacities in the Assigned Maintenance Department, the last being General Foreman of Maintenance. He was in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II and served 27.5 months in the South & Central Pacific and earned the combat action ribbon. He started and served as the first commandant of the Marine Corps League, the Colonel Wm. E. Barber Det. 1191 in Middletown. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218 for 67 years, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 3809, member of Disabled American Veterans, Moose Lodge and Jefferson Lodge # 90 F. & A.M. He volunteered at all the veteran organizations to help in any capacity that he could. Bob loved golf and was the treasurer of the Seniors Golf League at Weatherwax Golf Course. He also served as an usher at Breiel Church. On Bob's 90th birthday he parachuted out of an airplane over Hook Field. Bob is survived by his wife, Pauline (Chaney) Sorrell Miller; son, Robert C. (Susan) Miller; sister, Betty Wood; grandchildren, Robert C. Miller Jr., Ty Elliott Miller; 3 great grandchildren; step son, James Lee (Linda) Sorrell III; 4 step grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Crim; first wife, Marion I. Miller; brothers, William Miller, Jr., Donald R. Miller and step son, Timothy R. Sorrell. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:00 am at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with Masonic services by Jefferson Lodge # 90 F. & A.M at 7:30pm at the funeral home. Steve Grimes
1947 - 2014 

Fondly known as Bubba, 67, of Middletown, died Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born in Middletown on April 12, 1947 to parents Robert S. and Marjorie (McCullough) Grimes. Steve graduated from Talawanda High School in 1965. He proudly gave 8 years of service in the United States Air Force. He served two tours in Vietnam, 1967-68 and 1969-70. He was a member of the VFW Post 3809, American Legion Post 218, DAV #131 and was a member of the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. He worked 34 years for the United States Postal Service. Steve is survived by his wife of 44 years, Chris (Santoro) Grimes; son, Robbie Grimes, his wife, Denise, and their children, Courtney, Jadyn, Branden & Bradyn; daughter, Erin Landis, her husband, Jeremy, and their children, Eleanor & Gage; sisters, Jane Ann (Garry) Day & Mary Alice (Gene) Santoro; brothers, Bill (Millie) Kuth, Mike (Elaine) Kuth, Tom (Susan) Grimes & Don (Susie) Grimes; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Mary Jane Grimes. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
